How do I become a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church?
At
the conclusion of the worship service, you will be invited to come to
the front of the church and speak to the pastor regarding any decision
the Lord is directing you to make. Speak to the pastor about your decision.
Are there prerequisites for church membership?
Yes. The Bible teaches that to be a member of our local church you must be a baptized believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:41).
What if I am not a Southern Baptist? Can I still join?
Yes,
all are welcome to join our church regardless of past denominational
affiliations. The priority is faith in Christ and baptism by
immersion.
Why is baptism so important?
First
and foremost, believers are baptized because Jesus was and He asked us
to follow His example in all things. If Jesus found baptism by
immersion vital, how much more should we?
Why is baptism by immersion so important?
The
word “baptism” literally means to be immersed. Therefore, when Jesus
was baptized, He was put totally under the surface of the water from
head to toe. The Bible teaches that believers are to do the same.
