ACCURATE CONTRIBUTION RECORDS
The best way to insure the accuracy of your giving records is to use the offering envelopes that has been assigned to you.  All posting is done by envelope number.  It is your account #.  The finance office that post your gifts never sees your check.   You should make any notation that you want the office to see on your envelopes.
In the next few weeks you will receive your new 2009 Offering envelopes.  At that time, you should discard all prior year envelopes as the numbers are reassigned each year.  Do not use another person’s envelopes or they will get the credit instead of you.
Please contact the church office if you have questions or concerns

We praise the Lord for this peace that passes all understanding and His all sufficient grace.

the Fellowship Committee for a job well done. The food and fellowship time was very special;
to those who shared in the Worship Service.

RA’s
Recently I visited a school classroom and noticed a list of ten virtues on the wall for students to learn. I couldn’t help but notice that the Royal Ambassador virtue for October was missing. I’m excited about these young boys learning biblical truths in this RA program. Our RA’s are excited about going to the 100 year celebration event at North Greenville. We will be leaving PGBC at 8:30 am, Sat. November 1st. Any questions, ask Eric Wood.

Thank You
Dear Church Family,
Words cannot express my sincere appreciation to you for all the prayers, cards, words and acts of kindness for me and my family over the past two years during the illness of my brother-in-law and his recent passing.  I am so thankful to have you as my church family.  Kirk’s journey is complete now, but we miss him so very much.  Please continue to pray for my family and especially for my sister and her children as we mourn our loss.  May the Lord bless you and keep you in His loving arms.
Love, Nadine

A Word from the Pastor
I sincerely thank each one of you who helped make the 175th anniversary of PGBC a success. The committee who formulated the event, the Fellowship Committee and everyone who participated in any way. Thanks!
The future of Pleasant Grove is good. Hope, anticipation, and vision are keywords that express the future of our fellowship. Truly, our future is as bright as the promises of God’s unfailing commitment to us.
May God bless you as your offer service to our wonderful Lord.!
Love, Your Pastor
Don's Dabblings
The Ambassador “A” team enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Mary Bennefield and proceeded to write 24 notes and cards, made 17 calls, prayed for 41 individuals, and made 5 personal visits.
Teams “R” and “E” are meeting this week, so CARE will NOT meet next week. There is still need for you to complete CARE cards. Many times, you may be the only person who know of a particular need.
Soon we will be turning our clocks and watches back one hour to go off daylight-savings time. Someone has said that the idea for daylight-saving time came from an old Indian who cut a piece  off one end of his blanket and sewed it onto the other to make it larger. We still have 24 hours in each day—no more, and no less.
We need to remember that all we have is this present moment. We can either use it wisely or wastefully. There is no neutrality. Twice in his writings, Paul told us to redeem the time. This means that we should always let the Lord live His life through us. We must take time each day to make sure that our lives are adjusted to our Lord.
Our shut-in for the week beginning, Sunday is Margaret Brown, NHC, 1305 Boiling Springs Rd, Greer, SC 29650-4139

Ballard's Ballads
There will be a Sunday School Directors meeting, Monday, October 27 at 3:30 pm in my office. Please be present as we make plans for the coming year.
Pleasant Sounds will have practice at 5 pm this Sunday as we prepare for our singing engagement on Tuesday night, Oct 28,  at 7 pm. We will try to run through our songs at 6:30 pm with our sound person on that evening. The Greer Baptist Fall Associational Meeting will start at 4:30 pm and last until about 9 pm. It is at our church this year.
There is an extra cantata rehearsal  planned for Sat., Oct. 25th from 10 –11 am in the choir room.
You received a list of names in your SS Class who have missed more that 2 or 3 weeks in a row. This list will be given out each week in order for you to make notes to the leadership. If you know why they are out, please let us know. If they need to be visited, please let your class know who they are and assign class members to contact them. Let’s be sure to be aware of who is out and reach out to them.
