A Word from the PastorBy the time you read this, our country will have declared a new president of our country. Whomever is declared the winner of the election, they will set this Nation on a different course. Things will change for good or bad… things will change. Personally I am happy and content that the Ruler of this universe does not change. Regardless of the outcome of this election I have resolved myself to truths that will anchor me during any disappointment.: God is still in control—even when I have lost control. God’s promises are true—even when others or myself break promises. God’s love for me is constant—even when I feel unloved. God is active in my life—even when I don’t see any proof. These simple ideas have been for me, a rock solid foundation in difficult times. I hope they help you too! Love, Your Pastor Don's Dabblings CARE did not meet last week. Our Crusaders C Team and our Ambassadors A Team will meet this week. R and E will meet next Tuesday, Nov. 11. As I thought about our economic downturn in recent weeks and the many who have complained about monetary losses, I remembered one of my favorite Gospel songs made famous by Be Shea: "I’s Rather Have Jesus." I know some of you remember the words: "I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold, I’d rather be His than have riches untold, I’d rather have Jesus than anything this world affords today." We need to remember that nothing of eternal value has been lost. After all, we need to remember that how we respond to loss is all a matter of perspective. One stores up treasure in heaven; the other accumulates it here on earth. While one believes that happiness in found in being wealthy, Christ’s followers are willing to suffer in many ways because “of the glory that will be revealed” (1Peter 5:1) ATTENTION Happy Hearts Going to Pigeon Forge I need the balance of the payment ($95.00 per person by Sunday, November 9.
