Did you know that the church pays for half of the cost to send our kids to Camp Marietta. This year the WMU and Baptist men will pay $92.50 per child that attends camp. Due to a tighter budget this year, we need your help. If you would like to sponsor  a child or just make a donation, please mark your envelope "Camp Marietta Help." This is a great opportunity for our kids and we want to make it possible for everyone to go.

A Word from the Pastor

Don's Dabblings
Following a home cooked meal featuring pinto beans and slaw prepared by Mary Bennefield and Judy Fowler, our Ambassador "A" Team got busy writing 25 cards and notes, praying for 49 individuals, and making 8 personal visits.
Many among our senior saints have out lived all or most of their family and friends. My Dad lived to be 101 and has outlived most all of those close to him. Often, this results in loneliness. Ostentatious people say, "Why does God allow me to remain?"
Applyiing God's Word to our lives can lose the loneliness.
       1. Learn contentment. Listen to Paul as he says: "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content." (Phil. 4:11)
2.  Do good for someone. The author of Hebrews offers some helpful counsel: "Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unaware." (Hebrews 13:1-2). Look for someone in need of help.
3. Worship With God's people "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but `exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching" (Hebrews 10:25)
Many thanks to Jo Edwards and her helpers for all their efforts in making our Senior Adult Banquet such a joyous occasion. The decorations, the food, the entertainment was all top-notch! Many thanks to all!
Our shut-in of the week, beginning Sunday is Stella Fillers, 137 Rogers Circle, Greer, SC 29650-4612
