Thank You
I want to thank everyone that contributed to this year's Outdoorsman's Banquet. We had many that prayed for the event, others that helped setup, decorate, and serve food;  and others that donated desserts and prizes. The music by Grassfire was excellent, and our very own Youth Praise Band did an outstanding job. Rev. David Sharpton also delivered a very powerful message from God.  Thanks again and we give God all the glory.

A Word from the Pastor
Conflicts are a reality of the human experience.
A hundred years after the end of their legendary feud, the Hatfields and the McCoys recently got together  for their first reunion-and they will be leaving the shotguns behind.
"We are going to be on our best behavior," said reunion chairman Bo McCoy, a Waycross, Ga., minister whose ancestors took part in the 19th century shooting war between the two families that left 12 people dead and cemented the image of Appalachia as a place full of hillbillies with guns.
Two thousand descendants are expected to attend, as well as thousands of others, including the governors of Kentucky and West Virginia.
The only confrontation this time will  come during a tug-of-war and a softball game between the families.
If the Hatfields and McCoys can solve their problems-surely the church can do even better.
Our unity and the impact of the church depends upon it.
Love, Danny

Don's Dabblings
Don's Dabblings
Our reaching "R" team ministered effectively writing 18 cards and notes, making 7 telephone calls, praying for 30 individuals, and making 8 personal visits.
Again, many thanks to those who are faithful to our CARE ministry. We have the registration cards for those who attended our Outdoorsman Banquet and we will be following up those prospects. We will need additional help to make the necessary visits.
It is increasingly obvious that people  judge Christianity by what they see in Christians. Jesus said: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven." (Matt. 5:16). Then why is it that we as Christians often seem to be carrying baskets around with us to cover up the light that Jesus says should shine forth from our lives? Some possible answers could be worry, fear, indifference or laziness.
Commenting on the light, it is not for us to ignite the flame or supply the oil. Our duty is to guard against anything that may obstruct the outshining of the light. Our job is to release the light and reflect the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Shut–in for the week beginning Sunday, March 29 is Helen Burnett, Autumn Care of Saluda, 501 Esseola Drive, Saluda, NC 29773

Friend Day is upon us and we will begin promoting it over the next 5 weeks with April 5th being our kick-off day. We are providing lessons in your classroom for Sunday, April 12-May 5th. These are for you to use as you choose to talk about Friends. Donel is providing a summary of these lessons. If you only want to use them for 10 minutes each Sunday, along with your main lesson, it will be fine. The lessons will be given out this Sunday in your classroom, for you to begin preparation. May 3rd will be FRIEND DAY.
Kids at the Grove  are practicing at 5:30 pm each Sunday and under the direction of Anna Anderson along with her helpers Jennifer Chisam, Chris Godfrey, and Amber Long. Chris will be working with puppets for the kids to use as they perform. The puppets  will practice on the 1st and 3rd Sundays. There will be some exceptions as this is the 5th Sunday, March 29th. Bring the Kids to a fun-filled, worshipful time each Sunday at 5:30 pm.
