A Word from the PastorThis year is passing quickly! Easter is nearly upon us. This is a wonderful time of the year for us to think about the newness and freshness of life. Nature speaks of the new life of this time of the year. Speaking of Easter we will have our Sunrise service at 7:30 am. Breakfast will be served by the Brotherhood following the worship time. Rev. Kelley will bring the message. At 9:30 am, Sunday School will begin and at 10:30 am we will celebrate our Lord's resurrection as a church family. During the month of April we begin to focus on "FRIEND DAY" Begin your involvement by inviting someone to Friend Day on May 3, 2009. Let's do our part to make this day a special day for Pleasant Grove. God Bless, Danny Don's Dabblings Last Tuesday night, our Evangelistic "E" team enjoyed barbecue and all the trimmings, provided by Jennifer Donald. Though few in number, this team wrote 13 cards and notes, made 6 telephone calls, prayed for 47 individuals, and made 6 personal visits. CARE is not meeting this week. Our Crusader "C" team will resume it ministry Tuesday night, April 7. If you are not a part of our CARE ministry, we would welcome you any Tuesday night. Remember, we only ask for an hour of your time. We are fast approaching another Easter season when we will again emphasize the Cross and the Open Tomb. Some years ago, Time magazine conducted a poll. They asked a group of Americans to rate 100 famous events in history. The discovery of America by Columbus was rated number one. Tied for 14th place was the Wright Brothers first flight, the discovery of x-rays, and the Crucifixion of Jesus. Apparently you and I have not done a good job in communicating to the world the meaning of the Cross. The Cross, along with Jesus resurrection is the heart of the Christian gospel. The early Christians believed that because of the shedding of the blood of Jesus, the world would be a different and better place. Peter reminds us that we have been redeemed "not with the perishable things such as silver and gold, but the precious blood of Jesus". I believe that deserves a better ranking than 14th, don't you? Our Shut–in for the week beginning Sunday, April 5 is Tillie Beddingfield, Rosewood Assisted Living, 5221 Highway 215, Pauline SC 29374. Love in Christ, Don Kelley Ballard's Ballads If you did not come Sunday night, you missed a wonderful blessing by Spirit's Call". We had a great crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy them. Join The Team and Catch The Spirit. For Grand Slam Tuesdays. Starting June 9th-August 11 on Tuesday from 9:30 am-11:30 am.
