A Word from the Pastor

Don's Dabblings
Don's Dabblings
Following a delicious home cooked meal by Lounell Rodd, our Reaching "R" team got busy writing 22 cards and notes, making 2 calls, praying for 47 individuals, and making 5 personal visits.
With Friend Day this Sunday, we are looking forward to our role as "follow up" for Friend Day. We will need additional help to make personal visits. Follow up is so crucial in outreach!

As I thought about "Friend Day", I remembered that Jesus said that we are to be "salt and light". In other words, we are a part of His salt and light company. The greatest impact-the most impressive Christian witness is not made by preachers or religious educators, or musicians. People expect us to be faithful-after all, it is our profession. The largest impact is made by the Christian who lives in the same world, faces the same temptations and struggles as the lost person, yet is different. Because of Christ, he is different and that makes the difference.
May will not notice-you may not receive acclaim, but just as salt and light, though mostly unnoticed, make a vast difference so will the committed Christian change the world around him.

Our Shut–in for the week beginning Sunday, May 3 is Joel Elders, 280 Northway Drive, Landrum, SC 29356-8721

Ballard's Ballads
Ballard's Ballads
We have a name for our Youth Praise Band. It is "Test of Faith". We are working on a logo and hope to have T-shirts made up. Also on this Saturday we will be singing for the Greer Family Festival from 11 –11:30 am. Come on down and support us.

FRIEND DAY is Sunday and we hope to see you with your friends at church. After a short Sunday evening service, we will be writing thank you notes and cards to those who came during the morning service. Please join us and help with the follow-up on these guests.

Mother's Day will be a special time for our children to sing some new songs for their mothers. We will not have an evening service, so families may be together with their mom.
Also all mothers fill the choir loft to sing. Come and join us at 10:15 in the choir room on Sunday, May 10th. We will sing at the first of the service and after you sing, you may go down and join your family.

Evident Call will be with us in concert on May 31st at 6:30 pm. This trio will be a blessing to us as we worship together.
