A Word from the PastorPastor's Words On Father's Day we remember and are thankful for what we learn from our fathers. Men, remember you are the examples for our children. Have a blessed Father's Day. To Any Daddy There are little eyes upon you, and they're watching night and day, There are little ears that quickly take in every word you say; There are little hands all eager to do everything you do, And a little boy who's dreaming of the day he'll be like you. You're the little fellow's idol, your're the wisest of the wise; In his little mind about you no suspicions ever rise; He believes in you devoutly, holds that all you say and do He will say and do in your way when he's grown up like you. There's a wide-eyed little fellow who believes you're always right. And his ears are always open and he watches day and night, You are setting an example every day in all you do. For the little boy who's waiting to grow up to be like you. Croft M. Pentz Love, Danny Don's Dabblings Don's Dabblings. After a delicious meal jointly provided by Judy Fowler and Caroline Kelley, our Ambassador "A" Team ministered effectively writing 16 cards and notes, making 3 telephone calls, prayed for 44 individuals, and making 7 personal visits. Our pastor has emphasized in recent sermons the ministry of encouragement-coming alongside to help someone else. That is really what the CARE Ministry is all about. Much of what we do in writing notes, calling and visiting is involved in encouragement. We could be much more effective in this ministry if we had a greater participation in our CARE Outreach. We need your help! In Matthew 7:24-25, Jesus tells us about the wise man who built his house upon the rock. You know the rest of the story. Jesus did not say the learned man or the smart man. There are many PHD's in prison. Neither does it say the wise man hears these words and applauds the, or praises them, or agrees with them. Jesus did not say agree, applaud, or praise them. He that doeth these words of mine is the wise man. Action is the key! Wise is the person who acts today on the Spirits moving in his heart. Also, we have scheduled our Myrtle Beach Trip for September 14-17 with lodging at the Dayton House. The price of the trip includes the lodging, afternoon meal at the Chesapeake Restaurant, and a ticket to a production at the Alabama theater. The cost is as follows: 2 people to a room $170 per person 3 people to a room $140 per person 4 people to a room $125 per person A deposit of $70 is due immediately. Our Shut–in for the week beginning Sunday, June 21 is Thelma Waddell, Sterling House, 2010 Brush Creek Road, Greer, SC 29650-2614. Our shut in for the week beginning June 28 is Edith Smith, 103 School St. Apt. 230, Greer, SC 29651-3412.
